everybody knows the story of the honest man
who never let negativity into his head
took everything life ever threw, standing so tall
forever remain trusted and indestructible

day to day, he followed his heart
lived up to his expectations from the start
the type of man you wanted by your side
determined in life with the persistent vibe

he’s the nine-to-five with the extra hour
while the lilies died, he picked a different flower
he’s the man who stood up for the warmest hearts
when the rest of the world wanted to break them apart

so please teach the young ones this

don’t stress the small stuff, react when there’s seriousness
when you’ve got nothing to lose, you’re in a better state of mind
you’re like the sun; maintain your light and burn on
what could have been isn’t even an option

he answered me with this

everyone you’ll love will take you for a ride
you’re indestructible, your spirit will never die

indestructible, a man who continues to believe
indestructible, like a tree with one lasting leaf
he’s the man who never called it quits
indestructible, his life lived with no regrets
