Fleeing Heart
By: Tyler Ross
I worked so hard. I put so much in. To do it all again. I wouldn’t see a win. You never wanted me, but to keep me around. It makes me sad. So, I left town. Now, I flee from my heart. You did just enough and made it too tough. I flee from my own heart. I’ll move on knowing I did no wrong. Eye witnessed your actions all on display. You were a dream in reality, but now the end to a fading song. Oh no, I believe we’ve seen a turning point. Only to be forced with change. I worked hard for you. I proved them all wrong. Went all out and let my heart down. Time to kiss it all goodbye. There’s no point holding on. Wishful thinking leaves you hung by strings. Back to being a bird without wings. I flee from my heart.
