Welcome To Earth 2014

Welcome To Earth 2014
By: Tyler Ross

Many ignored smiles.
Too much disrespect.
Too many unanswered calls.
Too many unanswered texts.

R.I.P. to empathy.
Poor communication.
You think your time has more value?
Too much time wasted with these situations.

Welcome to Earth 2014
You ain't no friend of mine.

I'm out.

20 Plus Years

20 Plus Years
By: Tyler Ross

I’m uncomfortable
at the constant
thought that I miss
my friends.

The only ones left,
they’re inside my head.

I once spoke to a woman
that told me
if someone doesn’t make
the effort
in return
after three tries,
to let up.  But I
never quite
understood,
because I cared so fucking much for
those I wanted close
kept getting so far
away.

I miss when my friends missed me.
Wanted to see me.
Life is lonely
when efforts are made in sizable numbers,
but the number
in return
formulated this hole
into my heart. Fuck feeling
the efforts I’ve employed
return as I feel sad,
disappointment. I used to not care,
but as I get older I care
more to have my friends.

Stranger At My Door

Stranger At My Door
By: Tyler Ross

Didn’t know what I was thinking
We all know that roads been closed
Been running around in circles
Back in the same place but more exposed
Who’d guess you’d walk away
But linger close to myself
I had no idea your motives
Would have an impact on my health

So sick inside
Picked apart and left for the crows
I’m moving on
Cause we all know that’s what you want
Who am I to believe you’d change
Words are words but actions engage
A stranger at my door
Hands held out now wanting more
A stranger at my door
I cannot recognize you anymore

Strung along by your guessing games
You had a different plan
You said forever baby
But packed your bags again
You say I’m everything you want
I let myself be compromised
You say I’m everything and more
What’s there sure doesn’t add to the score
I’m locking you out

A stranger at my door
Hands held out now wanting more
A stranger at my door
I cannot recognize you anymore

The difference between me and you
Is the position that you stand
You go ahead and turn your back
For I am not your back-up plan
The time has been made for
now, you act like a stranger at my door
