A Special Table For Two
By: Tyler Ross
A brisk walk from education to my transportation
I celebrated by strutting my feet
Enthralled by my music
I couldn’t seem to concentrate when sitting in my seat
Wondering what the night would bring
I thought about places we could meet
We conversed
We laughed
Then, we decided on a dinner treat
A pizza restaurant became the destination
My nerves tried to get the best of me
The instant I saw her arrive
A smile erupted
And the comfort came to settle beyond belief
Wow was she beautiful
The candle light accentuated her eyes
Man was I drawn into every word
Her wittiness was no surprise
Intelligent and elegant
A smile among the greats
Easily I became hypnotized
As we laughed throughout our entire date
Outside the joint
We goofed and played like youthful teens
Never was there a care in the world
While we walked around the nightly scene
Relaxed and attentive
We shared a couple of stories against a shopping glass
I even cured her headache
Which eventually came to pass
Near my car we ended with a goodnight embrace
Spoke and joked, she stood across the way
Never did I want to leave that place
A special table for two
Seated face to face full of grace
