Disconnecting

Disconnecting

By: Tyler Ross

I should have seen you coming

The wrong signs driving down your road

I led myself to keep running

With no certainty of chance

My heart wanted to explode

But, who cares?

You were never there

Severing ties

It’s only fair

Severing ties

Separation to survive

How’s the cold where you live?

What I’d do just to give

A moment in your frozen shoes

Show you how to act

Show you there’s nothing left to lose

Mistakes have happened

And this grown man moves on

Nothing left to say

I now walk away

The guilt now rides on you

You’ve got it your way

Disconnecting any strings left for you to play

Disconnecting my feelings

Nothing left to say
