Worded Weapons

Worded Weapons
By: Tyler Ross

I’m equipped with the lyrical fire
that’s desired,
which will take you higher, than the liars
backing you like a choir
to inspire.
Even if you didn’t know it.
You admire.
The way your eyes reply, its not a disguise
but in the open, putting the truth in motion
and leaving you wanting more
I’m quotin’
like good sex leaving you in a hex
reflectin’ at the time
I’m devine.
Leaving you the greatest impression in your mind.
As I rhyme
and climb up your spine.
Addiction infliction
as you study my diction
you become fixin’
on every line
I’m not missin’
but I’m kissin’ your memory
planting the rich treasury
that’s travelin’ all feathery
hugging the shit outta your soul.
You lack control
as I devour you whole.
My verbal education
and positive vibrations
ignite the coals in your heart.
Smoking you out.
I spark art
Destroying you to the core
And soon,
you’ll be no more.

Playing A Part, But Not Your Lead

Playing A Part, But Not Your Lead
By: Tyler Ross

Your silence says everything.
(Thanks again)
I now know I don’t mean anything
to you.
I’m in the way
and taking up space
where there’s a void
of something I can’t fill
or replace
for you,
to be
the person you’ve become that went from treating me
from something to nothing
as you grew further
from your actions and words
that kept me warm
when you kept cold inside
not speaking your mind
and wasting all this time.
When you could have stayed away
and saved your days,
for someone else or yourself.
I don’t understand
why you left me on the shelf
to collect this hurt.
Again and again,
dust turns into dirt
now under your shoes.
Nothing left to lose,
I gotta carry on
now you’re just old news
as I choose
a new place for me
and sew shut these wounds.
I’m more exposed
again wearing these blues
and it’s getting harder and harder
to trust when you’re constantly used.
Numb infused
and recovery gets easier.
I hate what I’ve been turned into.
Nothing.
