Not Good Enough He Said
By: Tyler Ross
I know you oh so well
But I don’t exist to you, I can tell
We talk some, but never too long
I sit alone singing sad songs
Give and take, but you can’t relate
To me that is, but to him its great
You smile on when I’m by your side
He stands still and you stay satisfied
You dream of sharing your heart, but instead you share your bed. The one of true desire looks on waiting, while you settle for hurt and get mislead.
Bring me your glass
It’s sprang a leak
A metaphor for him
Or is that too concrete?
I tried my best to keep you in my sights
But you just drank on when you know it wasn’t right
Does it hurt you knowing we never happened?
Does your headshake, when you think of how we lived?
From gentleman to sincerity
My hand was out, but you buried me
Under some thoughts never quite clear
You moved along and left me here
Not good enough
Scratch that
I now see in the clear
Move along dear
