The Shoot To Ladder Mausoleum

The Shoot To Ladder Mausoleum
By: Tyler Ross

Love for you was always hard to front
Made it hard for me to ever want
A close connection to you
I never realized that you only tried your best to help me
There’s so much independence, I’ve grown to see
Hundreds of miles and closer you came to be
A man who tried his best to be free

What you see is not what’s always there
No matter how hard you focus your stare
One more word can kill you
It helped me realize that you only tried your best to help me
There’s so much independence, I’ve grown to see
Hundreds of miles and closer you came to be
A man who tried his best to be free

Now, why did I let my guard down?
Most of the time we shared, you weren’t there
And how do we gain for lost time now?
We grow closer in age, our time saved
Father and Son, we can smile to the grave
Smile to the grave
We’ve got to smile to the grave
